Good Morning, I met that guy michael and his wife last night for cleaning. I actually went to school with her she graduated a year before me......... They are so nice and probably will need me once a week and get this they have an apartment that his sister is renting and she is getting married in june so I may have even got an apartment lined up. They mentioned it to me....... and better yet its a two bedroom. If it works out I will just have to put my self in storage for a month... and it is near ladakins in moriches so it is centrally located. I am so glad that you helped me out the other day!!! thanks....

Focus on sleep and work. Will k.i.t tho promise. Usually always respond to e-mails on FB tho cuz I check it if I have nothing I log off and pass out :-P

Hi All,

I did this in my basement and love it.

Better audio in general comes from a speaker that is not built into the wall. Then in wall speakers and then bulit in ceiling speakers are for whatever reason the highest cost given the quality. But with that said I think in ceiling speakers are just fine for those us us who do not consider ourselves audio buffs. Great for cooking dinner in the wnter while your tunes effortlessly surround you.

I was definitely on a budget and I did speakers similar to these in-wall speakers:http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=300-462

I wanted speakers that were away from kids messing with them and I think they (6 plus 2 subwoofers plus a center channel) sound just fine.

Thse days I think a bigger question is how are you going to control the system? Are you going to walk to the receiver? Use a custom in wall control system? or maybe best a system that will work with an i-pad or i-phone. The use of an app on an i device makes the control system much more reasonably priced.

So if it was me i would do in wall speakers in the den. in ceiling speakers in the kitchen and look into it being driven by a decent ($800 or less) receiver and a iphone controller.

I hope that isn't confusing and I am wondering what Vinnie and Joe, who are both more qualified than me have to say.

Of course Bob is right and I agree on just about everything he mentioned. I don't have speakers mounted in the walls or ceilings...yet. But that seems to be the easy part especially since you will have open walls and ceilings. It's just choosing the right speaker. As for a control system, I personally would rather go with the iphone/ipad. I currently have an Apple TV hooked up to my living room receiver and that's how I listen to audio, either my own collection or streaming music. You can control volume, stations, songs etc all from either the iphone/ipod or ipad.

I like that you can carry either the iPad or the iPhone wherever you are in the house and control the music. This also works great outside as I have an old stereo receiver hooked up to an old laptop running itunes in my shed and I can control everything from poolside using the iPad. This of course is all matter of preference. On the other hand it is easier to just go over to a wall and turn a knob to adjust volume then digging through your pocket looking for the iphone, or grabbing the iPad, but I think the Apple route offers more flexibility Plus using an Apple device give you easy upgrade options down the road where a hardwired control center does not offer as much.

Sorry to confuse you, but to sum it up, I say wire up the speakers you like, connect an Apple TV or an Apple Airport Express to your home receiver and have fun.

I can't offer much on what speakers too choose as I haven't done in wall speaker yet, but keep in mind they will sound much different in the store then in your home. Airflow in the wall or ceiling plays a big deal in sound as well as acoustics in the room. Ceiling speakers tend to be more problematic just because of acoustics. If you have a lot of hardwood, tile, or granite, the sound tends to bounce down and then back up instead of filling out a room. Proper placement is needed. You want to avoid placing them over a granite island or dining room table. The sound tends to reverberate more and will sound louder in those spots Tile floors also effect the sound. I prefer either in wall speakers or even external just because they fill a room better. But I'm sure ceiling speakers will sound just fine, it's not like your building a recording studio or opening a theater. Good luck.

As I was sitting at the table I laughed out loud at the fact that you both wrote "sorry to confuse you". I was PREPARED!! I knew I needed to step it up a notch if I were to ever follow you guys!!! After 9 years in the house we are trying to build our dream kitchen. Vinny is doing a good amount of the work himself. Much like you both, he goes non-stop. I think he is just going to collapse one day.

You would be proud of me though.... I sold my old kitchen cabinets on Craig's List to a woman in South Hampton!! She bought them for $3,000 and brought in a contractor to take them down! Whoo hoo!! This is an extremely expensive project so waste not, want not.

Sure! I cleared any and all preservatives that I could from my diet. In addition, I really stay away from MSG. Send him to this site for everything you need to know about MSG and how it's hidden in foods...Also be SUPER careful when eating out. No soups, gravies and most salad dressings. It's a pain but worth it to avoid the headaches.

I do have meds for relief when the migraine onsets. Tell him that RELPAX works for me but everyone is different. It took about 2 months to regulate them but now if I get one every few months it's a lot. Good luck!

Not only that but I tried to get everyone to log a trouble ticket wth a list of login names and we can each work a ticket and close it, move on to the next. Simple? My BOSS tells everyone to email the dept. We all see the same emails. So if I answer one and delete it from my queue, my coworker doesnt know that and goes and undoes what I just did and the person gets locked out again! Not to mention the silly ones who never can log in properly the first time on a normal day. I wanted to have a liquid dinner last night, but I refrained....ugh.

Hey Vinnie!! Im sorry I missed your call. But I keep my phone on silent at work, and I always forget to turn it back on when I get home. Probably because it doesn't ring all that often. Anyway I wanted to let you know that I had a really good time too! It was fun catching up and giggling over our crazy lives! Anyway, I do enjoy your company. You are so funny, easy going, and very nice. But, I feel that I have to say this now at the risk of hurting your feelings, because I would want the same from you, but I see us being really great friends, not as a couple. If that is ok with you, (and NO, I don't expect you to pay for me if we hang out, lol) then I would like to hang out again sometime. The next few weeks are kind of crazy for me. I am involved in alot of fund raising activities, work on the weekends every 5 weeks and thats coming up, and we are getting busy with the band so my time is kind of limited. Aww...Unfortunately we will not be able to make the Pinelawn Cemetary for Aunt Fran. We'll be camping.

However.....After speaking to Mike, We Really didn't know that Marie Cardoza was part of "OUR" family....Nor did she even attend Aunt Fran's wake or funeral. Why would she be invited to this? It's quite a slap in the face, quite frankly. Why would you do that to us?

We are extremely suprised & extremely dissappointed that you would include her in "OUR" family.....I mean, really, What's THAT all about?

Do you miss tihs woman after all these years or something? Just don't get it...She has a NEW family...her "OWN" new married family....REMEMBER...You are NO LONGER part of her family.

I saw you left me a long message last night on my phone while I was at the movies, and didnt read it, thinking, aww...she left me a nice long message about mom. I was absolutely shocked at what I read just now and am quite honestly, amazed that you would take an event like this to vent your hatred for Marie. Personally, I was just clicking thru my list of friends to find people that knew Mom and didnt give much thought to it, but probably would have again. This was just a get together at the cemetary to celebrate what would have been mom's birthday. Considering how many people came to her past birthday party, I just wanted to let Mom know we were thinking of her. I in no way expected this to be an issue. Certainly, I dont even have PLANS to go anywhere afterwards, nor do I really expect anyone will be there except for me and Marie (my sister)
That being said, It is irrational to say she isnt part of our family...maybe I wont hang out with her on holidays and buy her apple pie for thanksgiving, but she is the mother of Mike's kids and will always have a link as long as they are alive. Ive learned that all too well from my own Ex. I would most certainly not invite the three kids and NOT include her. She knew mom and mom knew her and as much as you dont want to hear it, they got along (as far as I know) and I would never have thought to exclude her. Quite honestly, Im amazed Im even explaining this all to you....you most certainly have put a major stress on me during a time that is quite frankly, stressful enough. You know my relationship with Mom was strained there at the end and Im having a hard enough time with all this. I really didnt need to see this in my inbox, I dont even know details about what happened between Mike and Marie, but dont bother explaining...I never had an issue with her and have no intention of either starting any kind of relationship now, nor totally removing contact...its just not something I am prepared or inclined to do. Please know that I still love you and Mike, and thats what makes seeing this so very difficult this morning. Youre one of the few family I have left...hopefully.

The new job is going great. It's so nice to be out of support. While they slowly transfer new clients over to me, my day has largely been making flowcharts and building project plans. They are really flexible when it comes to the schedule, as long as all your work gets done, they don't care. I get to wear a t-shirt and jeans every day. :)

The wife and I are looking at houses. We were initially looking out towards the Miller Place area, but I think the commute may get to me after a while, so we're currently shopping around in Lindenhurst.

oh my everything! - my carpenter that did the spectacular built-ins gave me a crazy price to (1) re-do my front porch, make a 3-season room out of the north side and totally open the front with columns and all, while saving the floor that i want.. (2) totally rebuild my kitchen porch, (3) replace all my four doors and the remaining windows that need to be done -ten in all, (4) rip off my old shit shingles, insulate with 3/4 inch or 1 inch foam board, and vinyl side it. new trim boards.
i'm so friggin excited!!!!!

well, funny you should ask.... i did get a few quotes and they all seemed to clock in at around 50 or 60K... seems very few people want to touch a house that's 130 years old. my carpenter seems to get off on it. nothing is square or level and he'll be preserving a good lot of old character about it, which is what i want. and yes it is one guy with a single helper when he needs it... the two other people that quoted me didn't even want to preserve the existing roof-line - they just wanted to make it look like another mc-farmhouse. i'll be happy to get more $$ ideas... let me know...

well, you need to connect to a modem, but tommy has one dont he? you just need to get a wire from his to yours, or else see if he has a wireless router....find out, but either way you need to either connect to his, or get one of your own. the router by itself cant get you to the internet

What do you want me to say to her? I did talk to her and she says you are the slob and won't let her do anything. They can't go to Debbie's house and I do not have the room here. Its peter doing things most times....and its been that way forever. I had hoped she would grow out of it, and I tried not saying anything, tried nagging her, tried asking her nicely but nothing changes. She is just lazy and I refuse to live that way. Im busting my ass working all kinds of overtime to keep that house and to see it trashed is something I wont do anymore. I couldnt even put it up for sale right now its so disgusting. So shes out. I wont throw her out tomorrow, but if she wont respect me enough to at least pick up the damn baby toys, I kind of give up.
I really wish you would just come over and see for yourself and let me know if you would accept that. a surprise visit might be the best way to gain her attention.

I guess Sundays is a good day...I heard a few people mention that it was a gift..Out of all the consultats I think Im the only one working a weekend day...dont know if thats good, bad or has no meaning at all but I really need a business day off to do doctor visits, etc for the kids so I like this schedule a lot. I can be home early for my kids, etc.

Yea off hours are good with kids. I did 3 to 11 for a long time. Rich h is workin with me on sat too so you're not alone. Andy always goes with an employee opening and closing with consultants midshift. And andy will almost always rotate schedules. If sun works for you though ask if you can get it again. Most don't like weekends so he will usually let you keep them.

Lol. No rush at all. Friday was um a bit crazy to be sure

We bought them all from a guy on the web a few years ago. Try this one, not a lot of money http://www.mamedvds.com/ but ask him what version of MAME do you need to have. Once you get it all set up and working, if you upgrade your MAME version, it blows some of the roms out of water and you have to start collecting roms again. If not we a set here you can upload.

well, yep, shes pissed. shes right about the wedding date in my opinion as you did not tell anyone until after she announced her date. as for the rest, you were an idiot for posting stuff on fb, and yep, it pissed her off. i agree, dont ever show this to anyone, most definately not alicia. my advice is to give it a week, dont say another single word on fb, delete all your old posts and then quietly say youve decided to change the date of the wedding. if its true you plan on a civil wedding and this is just the full blown wedding, then the date can easily be changed, nothing has been paid for. to be honest, based on the number of bounced checking notices i keep receiving for you, im sure you wont have the money by then anyway.
as for the part about you telling alicia that sarah lied about the whole other incident, well, thats not for me to make a judgement on. let your concience be your guide on that one, i only hope youre being truthful with both yourself and her.
If you choose to keep the wedding date, its only going to escalate further and further so either tell alicia youre changing the date or be prepared for a year and a half of torture.

If its possible can you get Joey to get me names service titles and sizes (small med Large) of each. Last year we had 20 soldiers and we coordinated it with 1 soldier in the troop Olga's son. He managed to get us all the info without telling the rest of the troop why and we sent individual gifts in a group mailing to him.It arrived just before Christmas and he coordinated a group Christmas celebration with the whole troop. It was a great Christmas surprise.Joey can tell the troop or not whatever he wants to do is up to him. We also sent a camera and they took pictures of each soldier opening there gifts. When we got the pictures back we printed them and posted them in the lounge at work for all to see. It was great to see the looks on there faces as they opened there gifts. I look forward to doing it again this year. If you can try to get me the info asap so we can get a list going for people to pick a name from so they can purchase a gift.

i'm having a hell of a time with some funky display issues and "connection problems"/ i'm thinking i have something latched onto my IP address... it wasn't happening for the guy who fixed this, and when i got it home, boom - same crap.

im a computer geek that works for cablevision lol..well, im a computer geek who happened to get a job in the computer field lol.
what kind of display issues and problems? display and network dont normally happen at the same time...be like someone with headaches and chest pain...need to find out whats linking the two.
also, first step is to shut down everything (modem router and pc) and boot it back up again...cablemodem first, router a few mins later then pc. see if it goes away or keeps happening. lemme know if that helps, or else specifics about what youre seeing.

heh..he grew up in west sayville where i did. didnt know him particularly well, but his sister erin was good friend w/my sister for a long time, and we were in the ambulance company with erin.
i never knew you lived in oakdale! where at? i grew up on brook st. in w. sayville and then sis bought a house on race place in oakdale for a while...still my home town no matter how long i live in shirley!

I'm almost certain I've told you about our Oakdale house before. My parents moved to Florida in 1991 and I moved to Oakdale (because my sisters all lived in Sayville and I wanted to be close to them). I rented it with 2 of my best friends. Their parents had just moved to Georgia and South Carolina. It was like going to college all over again. We lived on Oakwood Road (right off of Oakdale-Bohemia road). It was such a great house.

Anyway, shortly after moving in, I started dating Tommy Vasak. He bartended in Sayville. We were all young at the time and I really wasn't looking to date anyone seriously. I think I didn't return a few of his phone calls.....then one morning my girlfriend Beverly looked out the front window. She said, "Maur, there's a construction boot on the hood of your car." Hmmm, that's weird. Then we all realized it was Tom Vasak's boot. HE HAD GIVEN ME THE BOOT! Get it!!!! What a jerk! I was so pissed. However, to this day that story still comes up and we can't stop laughing about it. Good times.....

and ive been bouncing around which kid may or may not move in, so that always puts a stop on things. but i managed to escape with them all living elsewhere so peace reigns for a while. besides the laundry room (which throws in re-sheetrocking the dining room), only other short term project is to convert the third bedroom into my media center :)
